That April date
Who knew it'd be the last
That we were enjoying life
The day went by so fast

The day ended and I said goodbye
Instead of goodnight
But you just smiled and hours later
Turned out your light

Besides a memory, you're nothing more than you were before
Twelve years of being solemn

Instead to them you're just idolized by a newspaper column

You're missed now
But you thought it was time to go,

For your soul is missing from this life

You thought life wasn't meant to be
You felt like your soul was in prison
And death was the only way to set it free

Three years later
And you're not around
But your memory lingers around me
Forever, as a beautiful, lifelong sound

In heaven you're free from pain
And surrounded by love
