I dread the day
that I watch from afar
and see someone else
take you home
knowing he will
kiss you goodnight
but that's who I am
and you're who you are
and still I watch you
every now and then

I can't help but hate
the way others look at you
but I know my place
and one might say
I had better not look
but I am me
and you are you

Can't seem to
avert my attention
if you need me darling
just give me a sign
I'm always struck
by the way you look
and what you do
so I guess that I'll
always be here waiting
patiently for you
Fundamentally a man never changes. He tends to just unearth one part of himself as he buries another.
