May 2017
We grow restless during the night
As shadows line the walls
Of an apartment we share with strangers.
Clear as water, this poison stains my lips,
Burning me from the inside of an empty glass bottle.
The night’s delights have faded and left my mind a little fuzzy,
Like the static on the tv.
Those dreaming are better left as they are:
In a world where everyone knows them
