I could never be Raglan the  knife man
nor a slippery Thames eel.
I haven't enough apologies
that heed wings.

I floored  Thomas Avery,
Tavern proprietor
who lay cold as ecclesiastical stone,
having raptured my Ussela
in cheery Bishopsgate.
