Twirling round and round
The heart beating next to me
Belongs to whom I hold close to me
Soft words drift back and forth
Round and round
The heart says something
The spinning ceases
Water wells up rapidly
A dam just broke somewhere deep
The heart stops spinning
says father why do you weep
No answer to be heard
Just the muffled choking
Daddy are you ok
Yes son
Just surprised by what you say
I want our family whole too
There just has to be a way
Somehow someway
There will come a day
But not today my boy
Not today
