Eerie November
Twas a murky air on a November night
A tap at my window took my heart in fright
Out i peeked, but no one in sight.
Back on my bed, trying to keep sane
But wait! There it is once again!
A gloomy silhouette brushed my curtain...
It was there! I'm certain!
Once more, i looked out my window
Only to see that old weeping willow.
The wind made its branches flail
Making it seem like it was casting a spell.
Hastily, I got back into my bed
Grabbed my pillow and covered my head.
I calmly counted to ten
Whispered a prayer and said amen.
.........
A distant rumble of thunder
Followed by unmistakable laughter.
A hand grabbed my shoulder and i let loose a scream
Twas my brother saying, 'It was just a dream'.
The tree was gone, the sun was bright
Soon it will be another November night.
