What we all try to do
The working man gets home at night
after working nine to nine
He's trying to make it
We're speaking out all around the world
reaching out to every boy and girl
who's trying to make it
The homeless hunger
while the rich are fed
why can't we just share the bread
we're all trying to make it
Mom and dad tell you what to do
because they care to see you pull through
as they're trying to make it
Here we are driving out on the road
looking out into the unknown
just trying to make it
I'm singing to you reaching out so far
all alone in the house with my guitar
while I'm trying to make it
You can judge a brother and his ways
but in the end we're all the same
just trying to make it
God can you please open up
the hearts of many that need your love
because we're all trying to make it
Just trying to make it
