I spent a lot of time staring at the earth
Watching the sun dance into the sand
And then I spent time looking up at the sky
eviscerated
With shards of blue lightning
So forgive me if the sea
Does not stir
Fond memories
And I have still so much time
To spend
Before it's too late
And there's nothing left
to flagellate

I resurrect Wilde to describe
The beauty inscribed
Within thine eyes enshrined
Till sweetness resigned
And sadness confined

Do we hang it in the study
Do we hang it in the hall
Or leave it in the attic
Until we forget it was ever there
Nevermore, no, not at all
