Nothing can heal a broken heart
No amount of comfort
And hope can help
And it seems misery is your only friend
And all the pain seems to grip you
Like a straight jacket
Squeezing all the life out of you
Tormenting your very being
All the pain inside
Keeping you from shining
Hiding your beauty from the world
Separating your light from the world
Leaving you to wish for someone to save you
Hope for a way to cope
Seeking for a fix to numb the pain
A fix that will only last a moment
A temporary relief
What seems like an escape
Turns into a prison cell
Trapping you in even more pain
Leaving you to feel alone
And feeling like you’re dying slowly on the inside
And you left broken
Until someone comes and reminds you of your worth
Though doubt clouds your mind
More and more
They remind of your beauty
And now you’re left to either believe them and open up to them
Or turn away in disbelief
