I thought of your eternal soul when I bathed in the sea
Where we returned your ashes
Where you wanted to be.

This ephemeral life
How angry I was when you departed,
A year on still I grieve
Unable to accept another life you have started.

The sublime wonder of everyday
The lives
The deaths
The returning of they.

The magnificence of it all
If you have the strength to see
Why cry for those who left us
They are eternal as are we.
