Slaves to Freedom
We are slaves to freedom
Captives who watch
The passing parade
Of life with wistful impotence
Clothed in the arrogance of ignorance
Shivering enviously in the shadow
Of other peoples flesh
Repenting other kinds of lives
Disguised and self conscious
Amidst the squalor of the living
And oh how we give thanks
For our Slavery
