Raining, raining on the ground,
Drops from a thousand hearts of cold.
The falling of the Gaulish crown,
The victory of the glory of Rome.

Falling, falling, everywhere.
Life is death, pain, and fear.

Never to live, nor to love, nor to cry in vain.

Blood-stained lilies, in the emerald lands...
