When You Realize
it does no good
to be good
here on the grand stage
of human felicity
trying to do what's right
despite that inner
inferno burning
hot like coals

When you realize
it does no good
to do good
Here it just gathers dust
and is lost amongst us
to a mad mad
fallacious world

Once you realize
the good won't amount
to much
except for the soul
you could stain that
and spend an eternity
washing out the mold

So its best to come clean
and be good for the
sake of it
for you never know
what's within the unseen
