How I wish
The grip of sadness
Could be released
And I could feel
Joy and gladness
And hear laughter again
I have no peace
No healing
And even the very best
Of things
Do not take away
The pain
You talk as if
I never loved you
But my suffering
Is your answer
So I pay
For sins I did not commit
Well sadness
Mark this moment
When what is honourable
Is lost
And what is precious
Is scattered
When what is broken
Cannot be fixed
And what is torn apart
Cannot be mended
Yes sorrow
Do your work
And then let me go
