Internal Struggle

Slowly we start to fade

Swallowed by a sea of grief

Consumed by poor judgment and actions

On trial, council of morals is our only witnesses

As we try to fight the pressure

Crushing, smothering us

Attempting to break our spirits

Drowning, flailing about

In hope that something reaches out

And save us from our uncertainties

There’s no one left

But there’s no disappointment

When it fails

We’re losing the fight

As no one extends their hand to help

Interested only in the commonality

Of their lives, controlled, influenced

By the sins of our past

Succumbing to the darkness

The questions haunting

Our minds still fighting

Despite the physical battle is over

We’ve done all we could

Changed, everything that can be,

Been all we could be

But society has thrown us away

They’ve lost faith in our abilities

Causing an internal struggle

The painful endeavor is ending

As our thoughts start to slow

It’s too late for the help that is coming,

It’s time to just let go

We’ve fought the life long battle

But victory was far from us

Not everything can be stopped

Not everyone can be saved

And yet once we are gone

Regardless of who we are in life

Slowly we start to fade....
