Thankful

With every star in the Night’s sky,

I need only wish upon one.

With every passing minute,

It is yet to be done.

With every breath I seize,

I patiently wait.

With every ounce of blood,

I anticipate that date.

Will it ever come?

Will I ever see it?

Will you receive my one wish?

Will you grant it?

As time passes and we grow old,

Not many have what we do.

With every fibre of my heart,

I’m thankful that I have you.
