I should not be afraid to walk outside my door.
I should not be afraid to walk home alone.
I should not be afraid to drive without being stopped because I'm "black"
I should not be afraid to speak up.
I should not be afraid to die.
I should not be afraid to walk to the store.
I should not be afraid to go to party's.
I should not be afraid when im stopped by police.
But yet I am. So many of my people were killed for no reason. Now people have everyone else afraid. The same things happen over and over and over again. A black person gets killed by a white person. Then they take it to media. Then they protest. Then they take it to court and there found guilty. See we already know there going to get found guilty because the same process happens over and over again. Then after there found guilty another unarmed black person gets killed. And the same concept keeps happening. When will it stop is what I asked my self every single day. What we are doing is not enough. Black people are still getting killed for no reason. When will it stop
I wrote this poem to explain how African american people are afraid to do these things. It's not all but majority are afraid.
