Challenge of a single man
Paraded in to the cell chained
Suspect to the judge
Doesn't gain fame as politicians
Waving hands with handcuffs
Abducted by killers
Of a tyrannical regime
So called comrades
Had no memory of him
Civil activists, intellects
Rainbow of rights activists
Never voiced for his freedom
For they're chained themselves
No news of his case
No question in parliament
when taken for news
its just for balanced recipe
Nobody knows this person
No fraternity with bold head
Who on earth is this man
Kumar Gunaratnam?
No one can appear for
Nobody has any relations
Infected with utter lunacy
To leave heaven tor hell
A friend in the days of 80s
Red man in detention
Escaped colleague in arms
In famous prison break
Born here, grown here
And fought and struggled
Kept in for not crimes
But for struggle
Never did so for himself
Nor for the family
Escaped, not to escape
Exiled, not to exit struggle
No poets write a poem
No slogan for his life
Journalists argue many things
Become dumb in his case
An abandoned prisoner
But not a solitary dweller
Just a single prisoner
For inmates an eye opener
