I've searched for love my whole life through,
been heavy on my mind,
That special girl, the perfect one
some day was bound to find!

I've prayed my Lord would send her here,
to show He really cares;
A package sent direct from Him,
an answer to my prayers!

I've fought with Him, I've gotten mad,
I've tried to just be still;
And yet it seemed not one thing worked,
It mustn't be His will!

I finally heard a still small voice,
"I answered long ago;
I placed her here for you to love,
My Angel you have known"!

I stopped right quick to look around
I realized I'd been wrong;
That perfect girl has been right here,
beside me all along!

The best of friends I've known for years
who's shown her love so true;
She's fought for me both night and day,
her strength has seen me through!

Now looking back, she's Heaven sent,
An Angel from above;
The answer to my every prayer
all packaged in her love!
