the bitter wind tickled my skin
and i hugged my down coat tighter
my nose as red as a cherry and my lips cracked
walking down the snowy road seemed torturous
and there was still a long way to go
each footprint i left were deeper and deeper
the smell of wood burning filled my nose
and the warmth of my house seemed so close
slowly, i walked in the chilly winters' night
