Shadows raced
the clouds
across the valley of my soul,
a midday melancholy squall,
the trigger of it I'll never trace,
deposited thoughts of death
and a stacked chord of supreme regrets
that I played it safe
when bolder action
would have been
the more prudent course.
carpe diem, carpe diem.
