It Kills Me When I Hear It From You
I know just what you want to hear
And you think that I wont tell
The hero in your latest story was bold but not so strong
But he smiled like me when you wrote your part
I think he portrayed me well
And he saved the day at the very end
Not for himself or the magic girl
He did it just for love
So you can go on listening
It’s not hard to figure out
That if I die before we’re through
I’ll come back as a ghost just for you
From underneath your bed
And when its dark you’ll hear me sing a song you know so well
They played it on the radio
We sang it to ourselves
And hummed all night till waking bells broke my dreams of you
We can stay in bed and just pretend we’re famous for a day.
