The snow crunches beneath your feet as you watch the sun glisten through icicles dangling from the limbs of trees. The cold wind whips through the frozen brown grass and shoots past your nose. A chill runs down your spine as you twirl around under steel gray skies. You walk along a familiar trail that not so long ago was adorned with wild flowers and colorful leaves, now it is barren and white yet beautifully pristine in it's own unique way. Down the way you go until you come to a frozen stream. The ice is thick, but spots are clear so you can peer into the water that runs beneath as if you are using a magic window to look into a secret world. The wonder of the cold envelops you and all of the beauty of winter surrounds you, until you are filled to the point of bursting. You finally turn back towards home, looking at a stone house with a warm hearth and hot chocolate. You shake off the cold and remove the layers of frost and wet snow, as you prepare to relate the wonders you have experienced while  walking in the winter time.
