It was planted by a family in the first part of spring. It grew up slowly and witnessed children maturing. It sprouted branches and reached to the sky. It endured many storms. It kept birds and squirrels safe and warm. It held a tire swing and watched grand kids play. It was carved on a few times with words lovers could not say. It stood as a guardian of many secrets that it keep still today. If only the tree could talk what might it have to say. Imagine the things that it has seen and many things that it knows all too well. Oh the stories a tree could tell.
