The Fire Burns
Poems
Sep 2016
Coronas and Cubans
On the beach, relaxed
in my chair just kicked back
a little country on the radio
feel like I'm in Mexico
The blue igloo sweats
bikini girl, great assets
Panama hat on my head
out in the surf, being led
Come back in and dry off
reach into that icy trough
golden bottle, need a lime
pop the top tastes just fine
back in my chair, with my beer
to my buddy, I say cheers
Cuban cigar, why fight
bite the end and light
Take a puff and a sip
feels so good on my lips
relaxing good, I sit back
for nothing, do I lack
