Slow Death by Sunshine
thick sticky sweat rolled
goose-fleshed back
afternoon swelter
windowless cell
I broke loose the hypnosis
looked ‘round the mirage
picked a perfect palm
rested
thoughts melted with yesterday’s ice
cooler unhinged
when will this end
when will it be cool again
summer lamenting blizzard precursor
unhappy humanity casting angry glances
the sky
obliges /
