I sent up a fully inflated trial balloon
it drifted patiently past an August moon

though it fell upon deafened ears
the effort did not seem fraught with fears

but causing consternation soon thereafter
to my shock and surprise... I anticipated laughter

one never knows what some may think
you think you know, then it all changes in a wink
