We were criminals sneaking out at night
Stealing sleep, we were caught enchanting life
We were lovers at the simplest of the word
Never did we know, we weren't part of that herd

We were running away in that blue Chevrolet
An array of plans, coloring stars as they faded to days
We were something that almost had it fair
But I was left to hope you'd be anywhere but nowhere.
