Broken Oak
You stand
Cracked
Your trunk
Shattered
And yet
One strand of you
Holds on
As your body
Lays still
Like a beached whale
Across the field
Inside your hollow
I peer
And see the effort
Of a century
Exposed
Revealed
Completed
Decaying
Broken oak
Even in death
Yours
Is
Majesty
