Nonconsensual surrender
To a requirement of life.

We all require sleep but,
what does really it bring us?

We're lost in a world we can't understand
A world where we're oblivious to normalities
And where we can be free
A world of dreams.

The deepest reaches of our brain
are brought forward.
They come out, they tell us stories.
We're reminded of what things were like
Or how they could have been.

We dream of what we want,
our goals and aspirations.
But when we are delivered back into consciousness,
Are we really where we want to be?
