In the small and stolid world
Why is love so far away?
On the endless seas
Why are our dreams so close?
After the toil and hardship of each day
We remain awake where we lay
From a forgotten world
We see love painted on walls
On the dark ocean
We wait as time crawls
Then as the trade winds fill the sail
My eyes can see
My mind can think
My heart can feel
Even if the distance widens
The journey has begun
And I will remember
How much it is that I love you
