SHHHH...MOTHER SAID...SHHHH!

Time wheeled
the stars around again

arranging them into
their constellations.

She, this
human speck

standing on this rock
floating through space.

The earth turning its back
on the sun

so that night
can come.

Her mother's death
a dimension away

lost inside the universe
that is her head.

Hearing her mother's voice
consoling her as she

lay dying:
"Shhh..." mother said  "...shhh!"
