A cliche, yet I know it's true,
But you were such a beauty, too,
If anymore the sculptor could do,
He couldn't mold another you.

Each inch so placed so finely there,
Yes, God knew how to really care,
The moment time came standing still,
This empty man stood now fulfilled.

You gazed upon me so circumspect,
Your friends on me were so correct,
That I would need your very soul,
To calm my beast, still out of control.

Where now we stood your passion flew,
Into my heart now furnished new,
I reached to touch your precious skin,
In hopes this isolation soon would  end.

But like a dream so simple to spin,
I knew this pleasure would abuptly end,
So holding you tight, to secure my mind,
I held you close, just this one last time.
