My father
Climbed mountains
Most of his life
And he could not hide
His impatience
At my youths
lack of stamina
Strength
Resolve
Determination
And now I climb mountains
Though they
Are not technical
Mountaineering feats
Like he conquered
I do climb them
Still
And my father struggles
To keep up
With his failing body
With his failing mind
And returning
From such a trip
I realized
I've been
Rather impatient about it
