Goodbye Catcher
I finished my book
A classic novel
And now I miss
The companionship
Built through journeying with
That main character
For the last few weeks
I looked forward
To being with him
Thinking with him
And wishing for him
As he travelled
And lived out
His fictional life
In that sacred space
Our two lives intertwined
And I was transported
From my own cares
Into his world
And now it is over
I must address
My own life
And
I must find
Another book
Finishing Catcher in the Rye
