I sit confused in my lonely room,
An overwhelming sense of impending doom,
I see no light, sense only gloom,
Whatever it is, it’ll be here soon.
The room grows dim, the light turns dark,
Outside the dogs begin to bark,
A faint red light, an ethereal spark,
A future cold, so bleak and stark.
I sense the demons, far and near,
Salvation has no place in here,
As down my cheek slides a lonely tear,
The reaper comes for me I fear.
Death you demon, come do your worst,
My time on Earth was always cursed,
In your ways and methods, I am well versed,
Of demonic souls, you are not my first.
I’ve sat and faced the hounds of hell,
I’ve breathed upon deaths evil smell,
I’ve heard many the chime of deaths final knell,
I fear you why? Please, come, do tell.
From first I was born, I was destined to die,
You hold no fear, no question why,
Your reasons cold, your methods sly,
Those left behind, I hear their cry.
Death is release, as life is cruel,
I fear you not, I am no fool,
To you I walk, as child to school,
To fight with death, a pointless duel.
As soon as born, death waits us all,
As sure as landing awaits a fall,
As fish in net, death brings his trawl,
Yet I fear you not, I await your call.
