There was a time life was so simple
behind every book was a story to tell
of love that would shine a better place
a smile would send you on your way
that would wish another well

Now the faces all come so unclear
that only show shadows of people
of those outside of God's temple
that got lost somewhere along the way
hiding behind all that they fear

Once there was a dream of life in a fairytale
until the world watched a Heaven turn to Hell
seeing love burn the world with hate
it was all that some could only show
as demon's from the dark of another's soul
opened the door to another fire's gate
as the flame burned through

Refusing to hear what the heart would say
while one by one they stood and fell
falling from the light of Heaven's grace
not believing in all that was true
left now with a price to pay
