When the numbness sets in
And my fingers run cold
I find who I once was
There at the bottom
Clutching what’s left
Of the warmth that I held
Clear brown eyes
Pleading
Begging
Hoping
To feel the sun's warmth
Again
Down days happen, it's okay.
