A tree it was, a life
shaking from root to top,
as wind raged
with the gathering storm,
bending low, creaking loud
breaking branches
leaves tearing away
and finally crashed
to the ground.

Uprooted tree,
life accepted
sad but undefeated
yet, peaceful it seemed.

I looked on
somewhere
a similarity perhaps:
I was numb
had nothing to say.
