I always was right
When we had a big fuss
We had strong opinions
It was my way or bust
We made our decisions
Off base from the start
Now short of an answer
We go to the heart

It's always the heart
That's the place to begin
There's honesty there
From beginning to end
It tells me quite clearly
The right words to say
When clouds come between us
The heart knows the way

There's need for each other
So it helps to agree
It all works out better
As good wisdom leads me
If I get too selfish
It's myself  I betray
Lord, help me remember
The heart knows the way
