I've changed the lock a thousand times,
and still you found the key.
I've come to recognize all your lies,
so please just let me be.

My strength extends now that you are gone,
but for you I maintain so weak.
You appear in the night till the break of dawn,
but I remain to turn my cheek.

I beg of you to not knock again,
but I'm sure you'll find a way to make me see,
how this locked gate cannot remain;
and that me and love were never meant to be.
