Hummingbird
You fell into my arms
As if my bedroom floor
Was a lake frozen over,
I held your heart
As if it was an orange to peel,
Stripping it back,
Piece by sweet piece,
Until the juice run down
My fingers,
Trickling,
Melting the ice.
