The Most Uncomfortable Time of the Year
Sometimes I forget
I don't celebrate Christmas
like everyone else.
Many times I think
it would be much easier
to be just like you,
And not field questions:
"Do you also celebrate
Thanksgiving, like us?"
I am simply a
Jewish American girl.
Yes I am different.
Not so much different
That you should tip-toe around.
Like you, I'm human.
Get it? It's a series of haikus!
