Oh, you are love to me
you are!
Oh, if I could only hold you forever
and forever whisper into your ear
"Oh, I love you. I love you! I love you!!
Oh, how I love you!!"
Oh, my dear love
I cannot stand this terrible longing
for my heart will burst inside
if I cannot win your love.
Oh, you are the secret
of the riddle of my life
and without you this world
has not reason for being.
Oh, how can I describe all the things
within my heart.
Oh, how my heart is a deep well
and the love for you in my heart
is like deep waters that cover my soul.
And oh the beauty and sweetness of your lips
is beyond the beauty of the garden of delight
whenΒ Β man first walked among its trees
in the cool of the early morning
on the first day of his creation.
Oh, the delight I find in your
warm loving arms,
how they rich into my soul.
Oh, you caress my soul!
And oh to become lost in your eyes
as though it were a black velvet sky
on which hangs an infinity of stars.
Oh, how my life hangs upon every word
that falls from your lips,
whether it brings
an icy death
or an unspeakable blessing
that I have sought all the days of my life.
Oh, you are heaven's child
and I long to enter that bliss
and breath in your sweet love
like a perfume
with a fragrance not of this base earth
but is sweeter than all the flowers
that grow upon the green hills of heaven.
