fuchs meine geistbewachen, meine totem, meine samurai schminke.

i only wear my sunglasses
in the night,
to peer into the nocturnal
heavens, and see through
them the solar bodies,
planets brighter than the stars,
although
resembling stars,
i wear my sunglasses in the night,
thus all distant stars disappear,
and Mars, Venus and Jupiter appear;
strange to think sunglasses
were to be used as moonglasses
to see planets distinguished
from stars and lost constellations.

mine the fox's gob, and equal i to froth
from it a passage of breath.
