Poems
Dec 2011
drive
a lone car
drives by
on this forlorn highway
we’re heading
somewhere,
or nowhere;
anywhere
it’s dark,
early
another day
ready
for new mistakes
and opportunities
fresh
and our tired eyes
witness
the light,
slowly creeping up the fields,
grasping at fences and housetops
cleansing the world from yesterday
and on this lonely highway,
we become
alive
