It was a year ago that I lost you
I remember when we used to laugh and play
You were there when no else was
You were my anchor to the world
Picking me up when I'd fall
Bandaging my scrapes and cuts
I remember when you got sick with the big "C"
I felt so out of it
I left school to be with you
I remember when you told me you hated me
But that made me love you even more
You had beat cancer
The months rolled past
And the holidays approached
I remember that horrible day
I crashed to the floor when I got the news
They had to pull me away from you
You were my rock
And now you were gone
I remember you promising me you'd see me walk across that stage
But now you'll never see that day
You're not in pain anymore
And for that I'm glad
I just wanted you to know
I miss you
I love you
You'll always be with me
Forever Grandma.
