Sober as a drunk
Trying to get out of my funk
I inhale and swallow it down
Just to deal with people in this town

I set myself up for pain
It's inevitable like spring rain
Pure ******* runs in my blood
All I need is bros and bud

Goodbye Tonight, Goodbye Tonight
Can't imagine waking up at first light
It's a miracle I made it this far
I must be an ever burning star

I use up all I got left
Try to make do, try my best
It seems I'm a **** up unlike the rest

I lost that certain person I need
It was all just a joke to you
Faking what you went through

I wrote your name over and over
Till you curled up for the stay over
Holding you was worth the wait
Loving you cleans my slate

My efforts are hit or miss
Solid ground or a free fall to a dark abyss

Goodbye Tonight, Goodbye Tonight
Can't imagine I can make first light
Can't imagine how I got this far
No no, I must be an ever burning star
