A smile
A nod
Such a gentle gesture

I know
You're gone
I'm fighting harder to let
Myself move on
But the burden's
Getting harder

Too hard to go on
I've grown tired
Of being strong

There's not a day
That passes me by
That I don't dream
of your face
And the pain
Never fades

A sore reminder
That you are gone
Is when I expect you
To be there
-I call your name-
But you're really not

I'm sad
And weary
These same old days
Are dark and dreary

My veins filled with ice
So cold
You were the warmth
That filled my soul

Now I'm left
A shell
Of the person
You once knew
Because without you
I am gone
The only difference
Between us
Is your heart
No longer beats

But mine
Does
In my mind
I've been dead a long time
The moment
You left my life
