I,ll never forget
The day that I cried
It was August the sixteenth
The day Elvis died

I could,nt believe it
It couldn't be true
The king could,nt die
He was just forty two

He gave us three decades
Out of his four
Thirty three films
And records galore

After all that he gave us
We still screamed for more
Till fame took its toll
And they found him on the floor

Elvis sings in heaven now
While Gabriel blows his horn
The angels rocking in the clouds
And a legend has been born

He had a wife
And a daughter too
And now he,s left the building
We all feel moody blue
